Why pet urine has such a strong smell.
Pet urine is composed of four different bacteria. The strong smell is related to the uric acid crystals which form when urine spots are allowed to dry. Pet urine smell gets worse in the summer, when there is more humidity in the air. Moisture reactivates the crystals. Enzyme cleaners are specially formulated to digest urine crystals. This is the only way to permanently remove uric acid from your carpet/upholstery. Common household cleaners are ineffective and only tend to mask the odor, instead of removing it.

Why you should clean your upholstery
every 6-12 months.
While you might think the reason you should clean your upholstery is to make it look great, or to improve the life of your furniture, those are basically added benefits. Air quality is very important in your home and upholstery cleaning can help you keep the air at its best. Dust and bacteria can get trapped in the fiber of your upholstery and cause breathing and allergy problems.

Why you should clean your carpet
every 6-12 months.
Your carpet is like a filter, it traps all pollen, dust, allergies & outdoor pollutants. As every filter needs replacement, your carpet needs to be professionally cleaned to look, feel and perform at its best. Neglecting your carpet cleaning will lead to poor indoor air quality, unpleasant appearance, feel and odor. Regular carpet cleaning can remove many allergens and dust mites and improve indoor air quality.

Maintaining your carpet.
  • Vacuum your carpet weekly or even more often if you have pets or kids.
  • Use doormats, especially during the winter months, to reduce the amount of dirt brought into your home.
  • Leave your shoes at the doorway. They are to be worn outside, not inside.
  • Rearrange your furniture once a year to change the walk path. This will extend the lifetime of your carpet.
  • Be extremely careful while choosing spot cleaners. Many of them are based on soap, which leaves sticky residue behind. The residue acts like a magnet to dirt and dust, resulting in quick re-soiling of the treated area.

Optical Brighteners - good or bad.
They are ultraviolet dyes. The result is visible only when sunlight reflects on the carpet/upholstery, making the surface appear cleaner than it actually is. Optical brighteners shouldn’t be applied on stain resistant carpets, because this will result in loss of stain resistance. Carpet & upholstery manufacturers discourage its use because of a tendency to get yellow with age. We don't use any optical brighteners.
